Well, so much for Matt Flynn and Joe Philbin being the perfect marriage. Flynn has signed a $26 million contract in Seattle, although only $10 million of that is guaranteed. Flynn certainly didn't break the backup quarterback bank the way Kevin Kolb and Matt Cassel did. Kolb's original contract with Arizona had $21 million guaranteed, while Cassel's contract with Kansas City had $28 million guaranteed.
Now that free agency has slowed down a bit, we'll go back to Extra Points posts on the major signings rather than a running thread each day.

Short-yardage passing had a good year, except at the end of the Super Bowl. We look at the return of quarterback runs, the rise in pass-happy strategy, and 2014 success rates for offense and defense.
