Here's Peter King's latest. And let me just add that this week's Quote of the Week is more like the Quote of the Millennium:
"Since Art Shell came back, this is a miracle performed here today.''
-- California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, during the third quarter of last Monday's Raiders-Chargers game on ESPN.

If you watched the Oregon-Oklahoma game, you had to be shaking your head at terrible officiating at the end of the game. Twice the referee halted the game for a replay review, and twice when the review was over he turned on his microphone afterward and told us things that were demonstrably false regarding where and when a player touched the ball.

If you just glance at the stat line, Drew Bledsoe's numbers look a lot worse than they really were. Dallas receivers were dropping passes like they were the 2004 Seahawks and Terrell Owens had a, ahem, hand in that. But T.O. has a good excuse: He broke his finger. Early reports have him out 2-4 weeks but the Cowboys have a bye and the Texans coming up so there's a chance he won't miss any meaningful action.

Having the best fans in the world is the second best thing to winning, right? Honestly, good for Cleveland and their fans. First the Cavs re-signed LeBron, and now this. Here's the link to the full fan loyalty rankings. If Monday night's late game was any indication, the Raiders' ranking is just about right.

From the AP: "New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush and his family appear to have accepted gifts, money and other benefits worth more than $100,000 from two marketing agents while the Heisman Trophy winner was still playing at Southern California, according to a report posted Thursday on Yahoo.com."

Raise your hand if you want to read a really, really bad NFL analyst. Come on, you know you want to. I've got to give props to Alex Rubin, one of the FO interns, who thoroughly excoriates one of the lamest Week 1 "jump to conclusions" columns in newspaper history, written by Roger Brown of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer. Honestly, this thing has to be seen to be believed.

Remember William Krasker's footballcommentary.com? Well, there's a new website, Pigskin Revolution, that's doing much the same thing, with a strategy model that looks at the decisions that coaches make during games. Here's their review of Monday's Washington-Minnesota contest.

The Bucs' rookie made a lot of big plays last year, but he'll need to cut down on turnovers and sloppy throws to live up to his draft status.
