The Ravens aren't very good and nobody can blame Kyle Boller. In fact, if you want to point fingers, use all five for the offensive line, because they might be the worst unit in football. Is it too early to start talking about who should replace Brian Billick? (bugmenot/free registration required)

A powerful story from Karen Crouse of the New York Times. When he was an adolescent, the Jets' Laveranues Coles was molested by a man his mother later married.

Once again, Freddie Mitchell is the voice of reason. He blames Donovan McNabb for his failures as an NFL wide receiver, and also sides with Terrell Owens about his contract issues. If there's a quicker way to lose any remaining credibility, I can't think of it.

Jay Gruden, a Bucs assistant coach, Arena League head coach, former Arena League player, and brother of Jon Gruden, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. Jon Gruden supposedly never has time for anything but football throughout the season. I guess his brother has time for getting wasted and risking the lives of everyone on the road. It'll be interesting to see whether Jon lets his brother participate in this weekend's game, since he benched kick returner Torrie Cox for his DUI this week.

LeCharles Bentley of the Saints is the only black starting center in the NFL. Why? What is it about center, quarterback, punter and kicker that makes them predominantly white positions, and what is it about football that makes the rest of the sport predominantly black?

Since there's not enough debate around here about Manning vs. Brady, I'll add some fuel to the fire. Jason Sehorn likes Manning over Brady. And just to make sure he gets his point across, he also likes Bulger over Brady too. (I bet you didn't see the Bulger curveball coming.) Brady responds: "There is a forum for a lot of these guys to say whatever they want to say... And people respect what they say, even though maybe they can't evaluate talent, or evaluate players or evaluate teams. They still don't realize the reason we're successful. And that's fine by us.

Paul Zimmerman accuses Terrell Owens of alligator arms on a key play Monday night. I've always thought T.O. is one of the toughest receivers in football in terms of taking hits once he's already got the ball in his hands, but not particularly tough in terms of taking a hit in order to get the ball.

The Times takes a look at how pervasive identity theft is among NFL players. Apparently, Ty Law doesn't actually walk around in public wearing a thick gold chain, and Ben Roethlisberger isn't the secret identity of Brian St. Pierre, even though some dude tried to pass himself off as both of them. We know football season is back in a big way when we see the return of Dr. Z's power rankings. Paul Zimmerman has good things to say about the Chiefs' linebackers, DeAngelo Hall, and William Joseph, who many have labeled a bust but who is singled out in Pro Football Prospectus as one of the league's best run-stuffers.

File this under "things not to say in a job interview." Which is probably what's up next for Rams executive Samir Suleiman, after threatening a Post-Dispatch columnist via voicemail. By the way, leaving threatening voicemails is about as idiotic as Jerry Springer paying a prostitute with a personal check while serving as mayor of Cincinnati.

Which receivers were truly most effective with the ball in their hands last season? We look at the leaders in YAC+ for 2014 and the last nine years.
