NFL Lowdown: Week 9

Thankful to be in a part of New Jersey that stayed high and dry this week so I could compare the Falcons to a bag of lima beans and speculate on how Andy Reid will prepare for blizzards. Also by me on Sports on Earth is a long form about the role of Christianity in football throughout history. Check it out! (I do so many different things over there that I cannot really XP them all).

1. The Falcons might be offerimg organic free trade pinto beans, but what I really want is organic grass-fed beef.

2. A QB rebounding against the Browns is not a story.

3. The Lions would salivate at the prospect of seeing Tebow in a Jags uniform this week.

The 2010 Seahawks and 2011 Tebows both proved that you can suck and still win a playoff game given the right conditions.

Meanwhile, the Lions have trounced Tebow thoroughly already, while, sadly, the Raiders have come out on the losing end.

Given that lima beans appear to have been named for Lima, Peru, why do we call them "l-eye-ma beans"?
