I know that Cosell's mocks don't often jive with conventional wisdom, but I figured this would make a nice catch-all draft discussion thread while we wait out the next day-and-a-half. (Here's the second half of the first round.)

Hey, it's "is the NFL ready for a gay player" article No. 52,617. Only this time, it's about a specific guy: Alan Gandreau, who kicked for Middle Tennessee State from 2009-2012. At first maybe you're thinking "oh, not another publicity stunt." But this is not like that "first woman to kick at a regional combine" story, which was a joke, just a ridiculous waste of time. This guy is an actual kicker from an actual Division I school who was a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award as a junior.

A polarizing player in the draft community engenders endless debate -- even after we see that player on an NFL field. If he succeeds, his backers believe that the detractors over analyzed the situation. If the prospect struggles, the naysayers will claim the backers didn’t see enough. In this sense, Le’Veon Bell is a polarizing player.

This week, Mr. King takes a comprehensive look inside the Darrelle Revis trade, discusses some of the inner workings at SI (especially looking at his new upcoming site), and thinks the early case against Browns owner Jimmy Haslam is "ominous."

The Buccaneers and Jets have agreed on the framework of a deal sending Darrelle Revis to Tampa, pending a physical and a new contract for Revis. The deal is expected to be completed tonight or tomorrow and the Jets will be getting multiple picks, including Tampa's 13th overall pick in this week's draft. UPDATE: The deal is officially done.

Compared to his peers in this 2013 wide receiver draft class, Robert Woods has a “quiet game.” The USC Trojan is an average-sized receiver with good quickness, but his measurements as an athlete is nothing special. Yet, Woods is one of the best prospects at his position – a wide receiver class that I contend is a deep one.

Hey, look kids. Mike Tanier has a podcast at Sports on Earth, and I'm on it. I talk about the draft, LCF, Speed Score, SackSEER, and a little bit of a preview of Playmaker Score. Also featured: Russ Lande and poor placement of apostrophes.

The NFL announced the full 2013 schedule tonight. Here's a link and a thread for you to discuss which teams have particularly easy or hard stretches. I'm very happy that, at least at first glance, it doesn't look like the league did that crazy thing it did in 2012 where numerous division rivalries had both games scheduled within three or four weeks of each other.
