FO Interview with KGNU (Denver)

On Tuesday I did a Metro radio interview with Greg Rasheed for "The Real Deal in Sports" on KGNU 88.5 FM in Denver. Greg's been a long-time supporter of Football Outsiders and has had one of us on for the last four years.

Amazingly I did not once mention John Elway's comeback record or Peyton Manning's cursed playoff history. We did talk about the Football Outsiders Almanac 2013, why I still pick the Broncos to win the Super Bowl and the future of concussions and safety in the NFL. I also learned I hate the sound of my recorded voice less when it's from a LAN line rather than a cell phone.

A slow start definitely has some negative impact. Finishing with the best record in your conference leads to home field advantage which is always important, and also a bye which increases a team's Super Bowl odds because they have to win less games.
