I did an annual appearance on the Betting Dork podcast last week in between working on playoff previews and dealing with my usual nonsense. We didn't do much on the conference championships, but talked a bit about futures for 2014, Twitter criticism, and the limits of both stat analysis and all-22 footage.
For those wondering, there was no appearance on the B.S. Report this week because Bill Simmons was caught up in finalizing things with the Grantland redesign. I hate when the business stuff takes up time where I would rather be writing and analyzing, and I think Bill got caught in the same trap this week.
Short-yardage passing had a good year, except at the end of the Super Bowl. We look at the return of quarterback runs, the rise in pass-happy strategy, and 2014 success rates for offense and defense.
