"A few weeks ago, I was out on the field for one of my first practices with the Raiders, and I looked around the huddle: LaMarr Woodley. Antonio Smith. Justin Tuck. Charles Woodson. Pat Sims. That’s when it hit me: Wow, I’m going to be on the field with these guys. "
I think he meant to say:
"Wow, the day I become a washed up veteran, at least I know I can still get a pretty good paycheck in Oakland"
Lame dig at Oakland aside, I really like the guy and the player, and hope(think) he will do very well in the league.
I thought the Vernon Davis article was bad but this one was the dullest article I've ever read.
Absolutely zero insight going on. It looks like it was written by a media PR person.
Couldn't he at least have told us why he looked like the unhappiest man in the world when he was drafted in the top 5 ... by Oakland
I haven't read it. I don't go to SI anymore since they redid the site. I don't mind the tiles much. Just that the site is so badly done and loads so poorly, it doesn't work nicely in any browser (which is quite an accomplishment).
That said, PK doesn't do downer pieces. He only writes uplifting stuff, or at least stuff so mundane with an upbeat style that it offends nobody. I can enjoy reading PK's pieces when he writes his human interest stories when he's given the freedom to write what he wants. But once the season starts approaching until the SB is over, I've given up reading MMQB. It just doesn't have enough meat to read through all the fluff.
Maybe it's because I have an outdated version of Explorer at work, but I can't load MMQB at all.
“Treat a man as he is, and he will remain as he is. Treat a man as he could be, and he will become what he should be.”
Can we count Baltimore out of of the playoff race? And how freaky weird has Gary Barnidge's season been?
