Lots of FO analysis weaved into these ratings. After years working here in various capacities, I still discover new things hidden right under my nose, in plain sight. The defensive DVOA ratings against running backs and tight ends makes a fascinating indicator of the "shape" of a front seven's performance: maybe they are forcing tight ends and backs to block all the time, or covering them well, or abandoning too much in the name of pass rush (the Browns), leaving the screen and hot read game wide open.

What does your city need to do to bring the Super Bowl to town? Oh, not much. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune got hold of the NFL's requests.

This week, PK is around to recommend Father's Day books (like, hey, Mike Tanier's!) and talk up the inaugural "Dr. Z" awards handed out by the PFWA.

Russell Wilson licks his lips...
Reportedly there's $61 million in guaranteed money. That's kind of unbelievable, so some of it is probably guaranteed only for injury. Full terms not out yet.

The mission of the RSP Writers’ Project is to encourage writers and readers to expand their understanding of pro football through a written exercise. This year’s RSPWP the participating writer will be the general manager of an NFL team faced with a decision based on actual NFL events.

It was inevitable that I would give up trying to brainstorm loopy offseason features each week and revert to something more conventional and easier to promote. Going to go unit by unit ranking teams throughout June and into July. In the event that I come up with something loopy, I will just write it midweek.
Also Sports on Earth unveils a 32-team offseason feature this week, starting with the Falcons. My usual co-conspirators, including Rob Weintraub, Russ Lande, Dan Pompeii and Andrew Garda, will be chipping in and breaking down teams throughout the month.
Finally, buy my book.

Going too low in your fantasy draft: veteran quarterbacks, running backs who do more with their hands than their feet, and Houston's (only) two good receivers.
