Peter King looks at the PAT, how it might be eradicated, why it might no be, and what some of the proposed alternatives might entail. My question isn't whether there's a better option out there; there almost certainly is. My question is, why is there suddenly a rush to make this change right now? I've been paying pretty close attention to football since the late 1980s, and the extra point kick has been nigh-automatic that entire time. So what spurred the NFL, after 30-plus years of this, to suddenly look around and say "Hey! Extra points are boring! We should fix that!"

The NFL will take a fifth-round pick away from the Atlanta Falcons in the 2016 draft for pumping crowd noise into the Georgia Dome. The Falcons have also been fined $350,000 and CEO Rich McKay has been suspended from the competition committee... for three months, apparently, which isn't really a big deal.
Cleveland GM Ray Farmer has been suspended without pay for the first four games of next season and fined $250,000 for sending texts to on-field personnel during games in 2014.

I am sad. Not because I'm a Patriots fan. As a Patriots fan, it was fun watching them pull off the craziness with the declared ineligible receivers. It was fun trying to figure out what the heck was going on, and watching John Harbaugh try to figure out what the heck was going on. But that specific trick wasn't going to work over and over. It's not like life got harder for the Patriots offense today. No, I'm sad because changing the rules makes it harder for other coordinators to come up with interesting, crazy new wrinkles on what the Patriots were doing.

For the second time in eight days, a prominent inside linebacker for the San Francisco 49ers has retired young. Chris Borland, 24, tells ESPN's Outside the Lines that he is retiring because of concerns about the long-term effects of repetitive head trauma.

Headline pretty much says it all, but here it is in full sentence form: The Philadelphia Eagles are working out Tim Tebow today, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Should Tebow join the Eagles, he would reunite with Mark Sanchez. Because recreating the 2012 Jets is such a good idea.
So here's a question: When was the last time a team had a more entertaining offseason than the 2015 Eagles? There's always something going on with this team.
