Re: ESPN: BYU Tops the Mid-Major Logjam
I'm curious why everyone gives so much more credit to BYU for winning 14-13 @ Oklahoma than to Houston for winning 45-35 @ #5 Oklahoma State. Is it name recognition, or just that the latter game wasn't nationally televised in prime time?
Re: ESPN: BYU Tops the Mid-Major Logjam
Yeah, I saw both games, and Houston impressed me more than BYU. Not to take away from BYU's win, but Houston really overwhelmed OSU.
The Bradford injury may have mentally affected OU's game in the second half, but they had problems on offense before he went out of the game. The O-line wasn't getting much push against BYU, and they weren't doing a great job of blocking for the QB. They're going to be hard pressed to win the Red River Shootout, but they may cruise until then.

As far as the FEI numbers, Oklahoma currently rates significantly stronger than Oklahoma State, rating the BYU victory as more impressive than the Houston one. That may change over the course of the year.

BYU didn't win @Oklahoma buddy...

And we still don't know how good Texas is... they haven't played anyone yet.
