ESPN: Week 1 Fantasy Matchups

Expect a barnburner between Atlanta and New Orleans, and consider other options (if you have them) for Chris Johnson and Doug Martin.

I don't have Insider, but I don't know why anyone would shy away from Doug Martin this week. The way to attack the Jets defense the last two years has been on the ground, and I don't see why the Bucs would think anything different right now.

Not only that, but Martin is a top-3 draft pick. At some point, a player is good enough that you have to start him against any defense. No owner is going to have 2-3 RBs better than Martin against the Jets.

The article lists a certain number of fantasy points below expectation for Doug Martin and expects you to calculate that the regular amount of expected Doug Martin fantasy points minus the unfavorable matchup amount of Doug Martin fantasy points is still more than the expected Shane Vereen fantasy points.

Sure, nobody's out there asking "I have to start two, which one should I start: Jamaal Charles, Adrian Peterson, Doug Martin?" except maybe a keeper league owner who drafted very smart. If you have those three guys, trade one of them for Calvin Johnson and then light cigars with hundred dollar bills for the rest of the season.
