My guess on the Jets high ranking on 3rd and long: small sample size. I don't think the jets defense ends up in third and long very often.
Also, isn't that an indicator that the Jets defense will be even WORSE next year?
Todd Collins is the first quarterback in NFL history to go 10 years between seasons with at least 20 pass attempts.
In case you were wondering, Tommy Maddox missed this dubious distinction by four too many attempts for the Giants in 1995 (he was 6 of 23).
Yet, the first time these teams played, a 9-yard catch by Adrian Peterson was the only reception by a Vikings running back. It was the season low for Vikings running backs (they average 44 yards per game) and the season low for yards given up by the Chicago defense (Bears opponents average 47 yards per game).
Not much reason to pass to the running back when he's averaging 11 yards a carry and going for 224.

The stat on the Saints' never rushing 3 no longer holds. In the first half of NO-TB week 13, they rushed 3 four times, three of those on the final three plays of the half.
