The Breakdown: Don't Forget to Cover Calvin

This week's "Breakdown" article in the Washington Post's Redskins online preview is up. It's also in the paper later this week, but you don't get the cool animations there. The play is based on Calvin Johnson's near-touchdown against the Saints.

The animation is very Tecmo-esque. Especially the RAC zig-zag. Loved it.

I was expecting him to run left and right and left and right in order throw off a few tackles.

RANDY THOMAS IS OUT FOR THE SEASON?????? WHAT? HOW WAS THIS NEWS NOT WORTHY OF AN EXTRA POINT????

I've been reading this site for 4 or 5 years. I buy PFP/FOA every year and push it's value on friends and coworkers. I even paid for an ESPN Insider subscription this year just to follow FO. But FO's coverage has SUCKED recently. WTF?

I don't even read other sports websites anymore, because no one's analysis even comes close to what you get here. And I didn't have to, since all the major headlines are listed here as extra points, and I didn't ever need to go anywhere else.

Since when has that changed? Since FO dropped DPAR for DYAR. It's been steadily downhill since then.

Maybe it's a more fantasy focused coverage. While we got XPs for Peria Jerry and Jamal Williams going down, but we also got one for Marion Barber being out for a week or two - hardly earth shattering, except for scrambling fantasy owners.

*Actually that's the worst, as going back there's mention of Leroy Hill, Shawn Andrews, Reggie Hayward, Jeff Faine and Jammal Brown.*

Poor Randy probably just got overlooked, but that's not surprising either - He is often overlooked as a player.

It was mentioned in this week's Audibles. If you can point out which other stories necessitating an XP didn't get one, I'd be happy to hear them.
