Have you missed the shiny, shadowed circle team logos? They're back! Oh, and Mike wrote some stuff, too.

Lane Johnson and D.J. Fluker were selected high in the draft, but both have troubling flaws in pass protection according to Word of Muth.

So many hidden jokes.
Awesome as always, though I think that is the second time you used the "man who shot Plax" joke!
Re: FO In the NY Times: Week 2 Matchups
Yeah it is. It's also the second time it made me laugh out loud.
Re: FO In the NY Times: Week 2 Matchups
So Kevin Kolb is Neil Young? Or is he just Dallas Taylor?
Re: FO In the NY Times: Week 2 Matchups
Enjoyed it Mike, quite a few good lines and decent previews to boot - the way it should be!
Re: FO In the NY Times: Week 2 Matchups
Very good, and the comments below the article are good fun as well!
Re: FO In the NY Times: Week 2 Matchups
That's some pretty cryptic material written there, Mike. I thought I was reading a New Yorker piece. Even the little officials at the top looked like one of their cartoons.
Re: FO In the NY Times: Week 2 Matchups
What really disappointed me was the necessity of the link for Kubla Khan. At least it was the poem and not a wikipedia article about the poem.
Otherwise it was great.
Re: FO In the NY Times: Week 2 Matchups
I would have really been impressed if it was a link to the song instead.
Re: FO In the NY Times: Week 2 Matchups
Anyone find it curious that the Browns logo looks just like an original Advil?
Great stuff Mike, and I too was curious if you were intending the comparison of Kolb and Young with the Helpless line. I think the Eagles would be downright giddy if they lucked into Neil Young leading their band...
Re: FO In the NY Times: Week 2 Matchups
Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Edwin Abbott Abbott in just the first three previews... awe-inspiring.

Sometimes I think these articles ought to be annotated, like the textbooks in college, just so we can appreciate all the hidden humor. Enjoyable read as always, even though I'm sure I missed a couple of good laughs.

"The Jaguars must solve their perpendicular predicament quickly, before Garrard starts dumping off to the polygons of Flatland."
That had me laughing so hard. I love that novel!
You can point out my spelling errors, but I'm still going to point out the truth.

One nitpick: There never was an Adelphi Stadium. There was an Adelphia Coliseum, and now there is an LP Field.
