Evans got cut for space. He had a paragraph talking about how his all-time favorite games were PRESEASON games. Since he said that with the Raiders, and was actually talking about Raiders games, I had to chop him out.
Mirer also got hacked for space reasons. If he played guitar, he would have replaced Hutchinson. Sean Payton and Mike Hohensee were due to have a sentence or two.

I dunno, other than the Washington game and his one half of getting pounded by the Giants, Cutler's been really good this year, and as his o-line has gotten their shit together the offense has developed some real firepower. Check out that weighted DVOA...
The general thesis of the article is good though. Go look through the list of guys that started a game at QB for your 2004 Chicago Bears.

Yeah, count me firmly in the camp that believes Cutler will have a long, up-and-down, but overall ultimately very successful career. He'll always make bad mistakes, but with better talent around him there will be fewer of those and more of the great plays he's also capable of.

I think the only Lions fans who talk about a curse are blind disciples of Dan Shaughnessy. It's pretty obvious that there is no curse that affects the franchise, unless it's the curse of incompetent ownership.

Heh...yeah, the Bears aren't exactly a QB factory. You did say though that after Kramer there wasn't anyone with success until Grossman/Orton, but that's not true. Jim Miller had a couple years with a fair amount of success, as Bears QB's go anyway.

I liked this also for showing exactly how amazing Sid Luckman was. 28 TD passes in 10 games back in the 40s? What is that, like 90 TD passes now in today's game? This came on a total of 202 passes and 110 completions - meaning that one in every 4 passes he made was a TD.
Just nuts. I wonder if that's the best single season for a QB in history. It certainly sounds more impressive than 50 TDs in 16 games with the modern passing offense.
