Bad breaking news coming out of Vikings practice today, as starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater went down with what was reported to be a non-contact left knee/leg injury. Mike Zimmer canceled practice 25 minutes in, soon after the injury happened, and Vikings players were cursing, slamming helmets, and praying for him before an ambulance arrived to take Bridgewater to the hospital. Zimmer is expected to have a press conference later this afternoon to give additional information. Updates to come as we know more.

What started as a preseason experiment is now an official lineup change: Trevor Siemian will be the starting quarterback for the Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos when they kick off the regular season on September 8 against Carolina.

In this week's Monday Morning Quarterback, Peter King naturally starts with a discussion about some backup quarterback and some before the game thing you may have heard about this weekend before looking at the effect of Tony Romo's back injury. Peter then talks with presumptive Denver Broncos starting quarterback about the effect of his ACL tear on his pre-draft process and his subsequent climb to presumptive starter for the defending Super Bowl champions. Also in this week's edition, Mr. King lists some of his favorite tidbits from Football Outsiders Almanac 2016.

Time for some media promotion of Football Outsiders Almanac 2016! Here's a running list of links to interviews we did on the book with various SB Nation team blogs.

The Kindle version of FOA 2016 is finally available. We are sorry the conversion process took so long this year. It costs $17.99 from Amazon. If you bought a copy of the print book from Amazon, you'll be able to get a Kindle version free. We apologize, we can't offer free Kindle match for anyone who bought the book in PDF form or from Createspace.

We're two weeks away from the start of the regular season, and the Chargers still haven't signed third overall pick Joey Bosa. The problem seems to be a disagreement over offset language. Bosa wants the language that is generally put in all contracts for top-five picks; San Diego has never used such language, mostly because they haven't had a top-five pick in a few years. Today, the Chargers actually released a statement to the media detailing their position, I guess in an attempt to force Bosa to accede to their demands. They want everyone know how much money they are offering him.

I have to give props to the Outside the Lines people for this really strong feature on the rise and fall of the daily fantasy sports companies over the last 36 months. Whether you liked to play DFS or just hated the ads, there's a very interesting story here. I still would like to see a healthy, well-regulated DFS industry that can stick it out for the long haul. It's fun to play, as long as you understand what it is and what it isn't.

Our postseason look at the biggest weakness on each team starts out west, where offensive (and kicking) talent has proven to be in short supply.
