This week, Gregg Easterbrook was all set to pimp Denver's defense but, well, Indianapolis happened.

After dropping three games in a row, the Eagles are now 4-4 and face a pretty tough schedule going forward. Despite the recent setbacks, the players say they still have faith in head coach Andy Reid. Reid admits that he needs to "dial up a few more runs" and that the Eagles have taken 20 sacks is a testament to as much. But hey, at least Philly's still in the thick of things in the NFC East. I mean, they could be like that other Pennsylvania team, currently tied for last in the division. (free registration/bugmenot required)

Sure, the Steelers aren't mathematically out of the playoff picture, but when you only allow 98 yards to the Raiders offense and still lose, it's over. Obviously, Ben Roethlisberger's four interceptions (including two picks-for-six) had a lot to do with the outcome, and frankly, I'm embarrassed for him too.

LeCharles Bentley is the latest Brown to suffer a staph infection after working out at the team's practice facility, a problem they haven't corrected since 2003. Geez, even Dana White's better at cleaning up than that.

Redskins beat reporter Jason La Canfora has a blog and in this post he shares some juicy tidbits from current and former coaches, other GMs and scouts about why Washington's defense has declined so precipitously since 2004. Also worth noting: La Canfora's sources think the Redskins will make serious efforts to sign Dwight Freeney and Nate Clements this off-season.

A pick-two? The AFC West comes through big, except for San Diego, the leaders in blown leads again. Also: a return to form for Arizona, snowy Green Bay, and Blake Bortles' historic pick-six problem.
