I understand that becoming an NFL head coach is an intriguing notion for many college coaches. But I have no idea why USC's Pete Carroll would be interested in the Atlanta job. First, it's the Atlanta job. Second, Carroll's done the professional football thing; he seems much better suited for the college game. I know, I know, competitive spirit, facing a challenge head on and all that, but the Falcons? If Carroll's truly interested in returning to the NFL, shouldn't he ease into it? Maybe coach up the Redskins for a few years, and then he can try to rebuild a franchise decimated by ... everything.
