Former Atlanta Falcons cornerback DeAngelo Hall, who has been asking for a trade out of the organization for a long time, got his wish today. ESPN.com reports that the eighth overall pick in 2004 will depart for Oakland in exchange for the Raiders' second-round pick in 2008. The Raiders and Hall are reportedly close on a contract that will pay the player Asante Samuel money (of course, Al Davis is giving Asante Samuel money to backup centers these days, but I digress). In the short term, this means that the Oakland cornerback battery of Hall and the more reliable Nnamdi Asomugha (who received the team's franchise tender for 2008) will be well worth watching.
