» Week 11 DVOA Ratings

DVOA has finally climbed on board the Wentz Wagon! The Eagles move into the No. 1 spot, but they aren't the only strong, well-balanced team in the NFL this year. New Orleans, Pittsburgh, and the Los Angeles Rams make this one of the best seasons ever for multiple teams over 30% in DVOA, and Minnesota isn't far behind.

The Week In Quotes: January 15, 2016

compiled by Michael Bossetti

THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT THE BENGALS PLAY THIS GAME FOR

"That’s the ultimate goal and you don’t play this game for one playoff win. You don’t play this game for a great regular season."

-- Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton when asked if this season was considered a disappointment. (Steelers.com)

BECAUSE PLAYING YOUR DEFENSIVE END AT TAILBACK IS A NORMAL FORMATION

“Anytime plays like that don’t work -- it wasn’t a gadget play. It was a goal-line formation, goal-line play, blocked like a goal-line play and it didn’t work. When those plays don’t work, that obviously lays at the foot of me and I take that blame. I understand that. I’m not going to get into the schematics of it. It just didn’t work.”

-- Houston Texans Coach Bill O’Brien when asked his thoughts regarding the play when J.J. Watt tried to run the ball at the goal line. (HoustonTexans.com)

DON’T WORRY, PORTERS ARE EMBARRASSMENTS TO THE POTTY PROFESSION AS WELL

"Porter an embarrassment to the coaching profession."

-- Bengals defensive coordinator Paul Guenther discussing Joey Porter and the madness that was the end of the Pittsburgh-Cincinnati game. (Cincinnati Enquirer)

MAYBE MAKING NO ADJUSTMENTS ISN’T THE BEST HALFTIME PLAN

"They made adjustments and we didn't."

-- Washington nose tackle Terrance Knighton, talking about what caused his team's second-half collapse to the Packers. (ESPN.com)

FIRST TIME 'FUN' AND 'CRAZY' WERE USED TO EXPLAIN MINNESOTA

“I had a blast. It was so much fun, because it was just so crazy. Everything about it, it’s just crazy.”

-- Seattle head coach Pete Carroll, discussing the weather and how he felt about the cold on Sunday. (Seattle Times)

TAKING THE BLAME BETTER THEN FINKEL EVER DID

"You know what, it's my fault."

-- Vikings kicker Blair Walsh, taking blame for missing the field goal at the end of Minnesota's wild-card game against Seattle and effectively ending Minnesota’s season. (KELO TV)

WELL, REALLY YOU CAME UP LEFT, BUT SAME THING

"We gave ourselves an opportunity, we just came up short."

-- Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, talking about his team's loss on Sunday, particularly the final drive and missed field goal. (Vikings.com)

I DON’T THINK ANYONE CAN BLAME HIM FOR NOT WANTING BRANDON WEEDEN IN THE GAME

"We had talked about me going in there with Brian, Brian wanted to finish the thing out. I don't blame him."

-- Texans backup quarterback Brandon Weeden, discussing the possibility of him entering the game late in Saturday’s blowout loss to the Chiefs. (ESPN.com)

Well, it's the first time fun and crazy were used to describe Minnesota since the Daunte Culpepper sex boat era.

O'Brien should have just answered all questions about the Watt play with "you saw what happened as soon as we let Hoyer throw it, right?"

"“Anytime plays like that don’t work -- it wasn’t a gadget play. It was a goal-line formation"

Right. Everyone knew what was going to happen. That was just an easy defense.

Actually O'Brien is wrong it was the definition of 'gadget' play where he inserted a 'gadget' in the person of J.J. Watt into the formation. But it wasn't a 'trick' play. No trick so no treats for the Texans.
