Our tour of the league's uniforms takes us out west, where the 49ers have gone retro and the Seahawks and Cardinals ... haven't. And what should the Rams do when they introduce new uniforms to go with their new stadium?

In the second half of our series on NFL injuries in 2018, we break things down by position groups. Injuries to quarterbacks, running backs, and linebackers are down. Injuries are way up everywhere else, and in the defensive backfield, they are unprecedented.

Our first look at injury data from the 2018 season reveals some plain truths: injuries are on the rise; Washington and Jacksonville had historically bad luck on offense last year; and no team we've ever analyzed has suffered more injuries on defense than last year's Buccaneers.

The Seattle Seahawks have officially released safety Kam Chancellor and wide receiver Doug Baldwin with failed physical designations.
Chancellor has not played since injuring his neck in Week 9 of 2017 against Arizona. For contractual/financial reasons, neither player nor team ever used the word "retired" to describe him, but it has been expected for some time that he would never play again.
Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Telvin Smith announced via Instagram today that he will not play football in 2019.
"At this time, I must take time away from this game [and] get my world in order," Smith said in his statement. "I must give this time back to myself, my family, [and] my health. I appreciate all the support I will [and] will not get."
Smith went on to say he was not requesting a trade, nor announcing his retirement.
This month: the draft! Schedule releases! Twitter beefs! David Gettleman and John Elway try to talk their way out of trouble! Ryan Fitzpatrick gets fat! The Battle of Winterfell! All this and a 67-year-old man takes his shirt off!
