Browns Release Jamal Lewis
The Browns released halfback Jamal Lewis today.
Lewis is expected to retire, but the possibility exists that he could end up serving as a power back for a team that needs one (San Diego?)

sorry, power back? This is the guy that played for the Ravens and Browns, right? The washed up one?

No, I think that he's the "All-Decade Team" performer at RB.

Is it a vase, or it is two faces? It's both! 0_o

The Chargers offense could plug him in for Tomlinson without missing a beat.

Yes, but to whom?

I really want him to retire. I don't want to read about him in twenty years' time, a drooling mess.

If you're a drooling mess in 20 years, you'll have bigger things to worry about than Jamal Lewis' career decisions.

touché. Though I guess if I'm a drooling mess in twenty years I'll actually have less to worry about, not more.
More seriously, have you read some of the reports about his postconcussion syndrome? At the end of the season he was still suffering from headaches and blurred vision, which first presented as symptoms after game one. I really don't think a guy in that state should be stepping onto a football field again.

If you're a drooling mess in 20 years and Jamal Lewis' career is you biggest problem. I'd say you're doing pretty well.

No no no no.... please don't go to the chargers. They've already got a bunch of young guys and an old guy who are equally capable as a group. They need to take another 4th or 5th round pick on a RB, and hope its another Michael Turner, not waste time in FA on over-the-hill RBs.

I'm sorry, but if you have post concussion syndrome 20 weeks after the concussion and after months away from football, you should be retiring because you are -already- experiencing long term aftereffects.
Steve Slaton shouldn't be cleared to play again either if he really had a cervical fusion.
