ESPN: SackSEER 2022

NFL Draft - Here's the ESPN+ version of our SackSEER projections for edge rushers in the 2022 draft. The top three prospects are packed tightly together with a surprising No. 1. The full list will run on Football Outsiders later this week. Click below for the ESPN+ article.
1 Cant read the article but…
Cant read the article but guessing sackseer most loves the Georgia guy that's 272 lbs and ran a 4.52
2 It does. Although it doesn't…
It does. Although it doesn't see much difference in the top-6 prospects.
I don't think Ojabo's projection accounts for the year he's going to miss, though. Karlaftis may have the most encouraging comps, though -- Watt the Younger and Smith the Law-Abiding.
4 Wonder how SackSEER would…
Wonder how SackSEER would have ranked Vernon Gholston?
5 Gholston
Wasn't his combine pretty good? And he had the sack numbers his last year in college. Nothing is jumping out at me as terrible (zero passes defensed but that's not a huge deal). I would guess SackSEER would rate him at least as high as Nick Bosa and call him an above average prospect.
6 Not particularly. SackSEER …
Not particularly. SackSEER (over its history) has used short shuttle (54th percentile), 3-cone (67th percentile), vertical jump (76th) and broad jump (92nd). In comparison, Walker was 76/93/80/87, so better in every metric except broad jump (where it's not that much of a difference), and Hutchinson was 94/99/80/61. For older comparison Bosa was 96/82/73/74.
7 somewhere in the middle…
somewhere in the middle between the top 10 ever and worst ten ever because he wasn't in those tables in the 2010 article. his comparison player in 2015 was Shane Ray who had a 18.5% rating bc both had very few passes defended which hurt their rankings
3 Man it loves RAS.
Because the athletic difference between the top ones is small while the production, just is not.
And I'm pretty sure Clay and Ansah had different roles in college than Travon (walk on LB edges that didn't get snaps right away iirc)
