The truly interesting question about the Dolphins defense has to do with last season's splits. First half of the season they were awful. In the second half they changed the scheme to what was touched on, the blitzing amoeba defense, and they were excellent. But will they retain the scheme? Or was it a Flores thing? And if they retain it, can it continue to be efficient? Unfortunately, it seems none of the podcasters were aware of this.

Aaron also mentioned Tua's arm strength. There's a possibility that it could be a result of his injury and fixable. His trainer posted a video this offseason claiming so and while claims made by trainers typically have zero credibility, this one was accompanied by evidence: side-by-side footage of Tua making the same throw last year and this year. The difference was striking, both in strength and mechanics. Hardly definitive, but I'm optimistic.

2 years ago arm strength wasn't really a big concern. It was NFL enough. Thinking more on injuries, I've watched Rodgers bounce back and have even seen Carr grow out his timidness after that 2016 injury made him play scared. And with a Bo Jackson type injury (and no NFL help) it's hard to gauge. Time very well might just be the answer...as much as people hate to hear that.
