1 How are the NFL picks…

How are the NFL picks calculated? CLE projected spread seems higher than I figured it would be.

2 Amari TD

Still funny they traded him for peanuts then re-signed Gallup who has yet to play. Yes I understand the context.

6 It was "wasted" in the sense…

It was "wasted" in the sense that they shouldn't have had 12 guys on the field, but once you're in that spot, I think taking the timeout makes sense -- not so much to avoid a 5-yard penalty, but because otherwise the Browns have a "free play" to be as aggressive as they want without any risk.

12 Ugh Browns

wasting my time with that 3rd and 1 TO.

Just to be short anyway! Just run the play, you aren't getting anything from their formation or whatever. They can switch it up if they want anyway.

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH they did it again. Of course they wouldn't jump, they know you just want to waste clock.

4 Weird

The Browns haven't tweeted "that's why you draft a kicker" today

5 I gotta admit that I've been…

I gotta admit that I've been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the broadcast, and by Herbstreit in particular. It's amazing that ESPN had him at their disposal but chose to go with a bunch of clowns in the MNF booth the past few years.

10 Sorely miss TJ Watt

I think we've seen enough of Trubisky though. At least you could pass off the mistakes with Pickett as rookie ones.

18 Yeah, he's obviously not the…

Yeah, he's obviously not the answer. The worry is he's just good enough to keep their games competitive and grind out some wins (which is basically what he did in Chicago). They'd be better off getting blown out in a blizzard of turnovers a couple times and getting Pickett in there.

21 Honestly

It's the perfect time to move to him with an extended break and going home to play Flacco and the Jets with a losing record and 3 straight negative expected points from the offense. Won't get much easier and literally everyone would understand.

IDK what else the 24 year old is gonna learn from the bench at this point. Hate the process of the Trubisky signing because of things like this.

23 Better this year, perhaps

In the long run, is it better to give 14 starts to Pickett behind this OL and risk breaking him through injury or development of bad habits, or to let Trubisky lead a mediocre 2022 team, get better linemen going into the 2023 season, and turn it over to Pickett then?

24 It just depends whether or…

It just depends whether or not you think actual games realistically do anything for a quarterback. I lean towards "no," so the default answer is "sit the guy because at least in practice he's not gonna die." I think if a coaching staff is so bad they can't figure out whether or not a guy's going to be good from how he does in practice, it doesn't matter what they do anyway.

25 "mediocre 2022 team"At this…

"mediocre 2022 team"

At this point, I wish the Steelers were mediocre.

Harris' career already seems to be over its peak.

ILB Bush is contact averse.

The MVP end is injured.

Trubiski misses wide open receivers. Or doesnt even see them.

OC Canada will have a hard time even finding a job in college when fired.

Tomlin still elects to punt 2 scored down with 4 minutes left. He has gotted worse every year for forever now. But hey NHALS. 3 coaches in 80 years!

Did you know the Steelers havent installed audibles yet?

The only way to mediocreness is Kenny Picket. Maybe he can find Pickens when he gets open again.

26 "get better linemen going into the 2023 season"

And if they dont? Gonna put it off another year? Oops a sudden retirement. Annnnnnd a big injury. Oh and this guy wants out.

Just get it over with. Learning from doing is real. What else can he practically learn from the bench? He's seen Trubisky win. And lose. He's seen him play division rivals. And a conference rival. Going up against the same guys in practice can only do so much. At least just play him a quarter or something to get his feet wet. Because at the end of the day the team will NEVER be perfect enough to insert him. Yall blame the line now. But next year people will blame the receivers somehow. Or the new OC for some reason demands a vet or you have two new things that will be hard to separate.

All the while his contract is ticking and the only data points are from practice. The same flippin defense, week after week. Counter might just be "well preseason counts and he just sucks in practice." Which is ironic because the reports from camp weren't the most positive yet when preseason rolled around...he looked good.

The Steelers elected to ditch the idea to start every drive with a 2nd and 9.

They actually passed to start drives a lot.

Ignore the context, and I'm looking forward to seeing Deshaun Watson get in the drivers seat for Cleveland. Everything else is in place on that offense.

I sense they are going to regret blowing that game to the Jets. After the Falcons next, their schedule gets a whole lot tougher. They needed that 4-0 cushion.
