Will Zach Wilson ever play another snap in the NFL? He was absolutely awful tonight against the worst pass defense in the NFL (by DVOA), holding onto the ball too long, taking sacks, missing open receivers, and tossing up comically under-thrown jump balls. That was probably the worst QB play I've ever seen, and I've seen Jeff Driskell start for the Bengals.

Remember Zach Wilson and Malik Willis (although he may develop) whenever the Twitter scouts rave about an impressive pro day and talk up a guy and totally ignore his game film.
The Jets upsetting the Rams in 2020 (thus sliding into the #2 pick), proving to be very costly.

It's another example of the "easy stuff" not being very easy at all. It's why I have always had more respect for the guys like Jimmy G, Kirk Cousins, or Teddy Bridgewater who are virtual locks to execute your offense at an average level or better. Going into the 2021 draft I was starting to buy the Wilson hype until I saw Waldman break down his game. Most of his tight window high lights at BYU were because he made the wrong read or threw the ball late. He has no anticipation whatsoever. Willis is at least enough of a running threat that he could turn into wish.com Justin Fields. But if you tried to force Willis to run say the Chargers offense? We would be looking at a future member of the all time worst passing performance list.

3rd rounder in retrospect. Some analyst/scout types were mocking him as a top 5 pick (Thor Nystrom at Rotoworld was 100% sure the Lions would take him at #2), and the chatter increased after his pro day. The Jets (maybe others would have) got fooled with Wilson because unlike Willis, he played for a big time program and excelled against a soft schedule

It was my first time watching the Jags this year and I wanted to see more of the game than I ended up watching. Mostly I saw the second quarter and the fourth.
Weather clearly was playing a role, but the Jags offense looked very underwhelming, admittedly against a very good Jets defense. Mostly they seemed content to settle for 3-yard runs and quick screens, breaking a few more of these than I thought they should. The other thing playing a role was the incompetence of the Jets' O, which took a lot of pressure off the Jags and allowed them to play it safe under the conditions, I suppose.
I was hoping to see a Jags team on the rise, but the main impression I was left with was watching a Jets team on the decline.

As you mentioned, the weather and the Jets defense made the Jags O seem worse than they really are. I rewatched their games and against Baltimore, Tennessee, and Dallas, and the Pederson Lawrence combo have been on fire. Lawrence is finally living up to the hype( IMO. Especially since the weapons are kinda meh (Kirk is above average, Zay Jones is a drop machine, and Marvin Jones is elderly…they seem to have unlocked Evan Engram though).

I wonder what woulda happened to trevor lawrence had the jets drafted him.
Would the organization have failed him as well? --maybe he would be headed the same direction as Pennington, Sanchez, Gino, Darnold, and now Wilson.
You become a certain age and watch a lot of Jets football (like 45 years worth) and you wonder if its really the QB, again...! or is it an organization that fails to surround that prospect with any talent? a bad o.l. with no ability to block, pass protect, or create any running game. So we blame another QB. . .
They produced 2 rushing yards in 2 quarters!!
yet this same QB was 5 & 2, and beat the Bills when he had breece hall and a healthier offensive line.
& the pundits sd he cud make all the throws! and raved about his talent!
Maybe a jaguars fan can tell me how much $$ they invested since last year to make the team more competitive. Lawrence did not have super numbers 1 year ago, correct?
How many players, how much $ was spent putting a team around lawrence?
Maybe, just maybe -- bear with me here; but maybe it isn't the QB ...!
Maybe the Jets fail developing QBs, and competent offenses. Maybe they invest too heavily in the d-line and ignore the fact that a QB needs an o-line (?) Is this possible? Because they look bad on offense for about 30 years now. (maybe longer)
Maybe Lawrence would be a "bust" now if he was drafted by the Jets. Hed probably have a bad shoulder from the hits and sacks, hed be running for his life every play, hed never have a receiver open, no running game ... how would any QB look good?
But the Jets blame Wilson and I think its hysterical.
It's pathetic, and the same old story-
but still hysterical.
The next QB will solve their problems --yeah, right.
Is it true thsat mahomes once threw 5 interceptions in a game and andy reid told him to keep throwing it? True? Or an old wives tale?

Not sure. How much did it cost to fire Urban Meyer? Because that's probably the best single investment they made for Lawrence.
