Seahawks Release Baldwin, Chancellor

Seahawks Release Baldwin, Chancellor

The Seattle Seahawks have officially released safety Kam Chancellor and wide receiver Doug Baldwin with failed physical designations.

Chancellor has not played since injuring his neck in Week 9 of 2017 against Arizona. For contractual/financial reasons, neither player nor team ever used the word "retired" to describe him, but it has been expected for some time that he would never play again.

Worst Draft Classes of This Century

Worst Draft Classes of This Century

I love fun little historical pieces like this one from Eric Edholm over at Yahoo! Sports. Even if he doesn't go too far back in time, we don't remember a lot of these failures, but they're pretty bad. In the draft where they took JaMarcus Russell, the Raiders also cut the first pick of the third round before he ever played for them! Which 1-2 punch was worse: Troy Williamson-Erasmus James or A.J. Jenkins-LaMichael James? That's all covered here.

Ranking Every No. 1 NFL Draft Pick

Ranking Every No. 1 NFL Draft Pick

A fun exercise here from Yahoo's Jay Busbee, and fun to discuss and debate. I was disappointed that Jay Berwanger was not in last place, but Jay only went back through the 52 years of the combined draft starting in 1967. Peyton Manning is No. 1. Last place goes not to the worst player, but to the player who provided the least amount of value to the team that drafted him: Bo Jackson.
