Jared Allen and the NFL All-Pro Curling Team

Former All-Pro defensive end Jared Allen made a bet with a friend that he could become an Olympian, and so he's formed a curling team with fellow ex-NFL players, and they're working to try to make the 2022 Olympics. The team includes Michael Roos, Keith Bullock, and Marc Bulger. I assume they live the mayonnaise lifestyle.

Every four years I remember how much I love curling. It sounds like they're longshots to ever be competitive at the national level, but good luck to them.

If you can get access to a Canadian sports channel, you can watch it every winter. TSN has the rights to the Canadian Curling Association events, which includes the upcoming Continental Cup in Las Vegas. Sportsnet has the better events: the World Curling Tour's Grand Slam of Curling tournaments. The Grand Slam events attract the world's best, and have been cutting edge for rules tweaks to make the game more TV friendly, like shortening the matches to 8 ends, but implementing a 5 rock free guard rule to increase scoring chances.

I have noticed a weekly curling show on cable and I live in So Cal. I watched it for a few minutes and it seemed to be an international competition as one team was from Japan. I think it's one of the ESPN channels but I don't care enough to check.

Personality-wise, Travis Kelce reminds me a lot of Jared Allen and his time in KC. Well, minus the multiple DUI arrests anyways.

Would love to see him in the Olympics.
