Well, we knew it was going to be a strange year, so why not bring back a conference we thought was cancelled? The Big Ten announced today it will bring back its football season beginning October 24, citing better daily testing capabilities and stronger confidence in currrent medical information. The league will play eight games in eight weeks, trying to get its conference championship played December 19 so that it can get a team into the College Football Playoff chosen on December 20.
(Actually, it will be eight games plus one: reports now say that every team in the Big Ten will play on December 19, against the team with the same place in the standings from the other division. So first East vs. first West for the conference title plus second East vs. second West, third East vs. third West, etc.)
