SITE NEWS: Football Outsiders Almanac 2021 Now Available!

We're happy to announce that the Football Outsiders Almanac 2021, Digital Edition is now available! This is the 17th annual version of the book that the Boston Globe called the "Bible for superfans and fantasy football leaguers." It's over 500 pages of cutting-edge statistical analysis, obsessive film study, and trademark humor. Full previews for all 32 NFL teams and the top 50 projected NCAA teams, plus over 500 player comments and KUBIAK fantasy football projections are all included.
This year, you'll get access to the digital version of FOA 2021 through a FO+ subscription. Those subscriptions are now on sale through July 31, you get an annual subscription for just $1 per week for the entire year. You can now read the FO Almanac team chapters as online articles, or you can download the entire PDF version to read including the college previews and the player comments with KUBIAK projections.
The print edition of Football Outsiders Almanac 2021 should be available on Amazon.com by the end of the week and will cost $29.99.
If you need more help with the Almanac or FO+, please visit the Football Outsiders Help Center or e-mail us at fo-support@edjsports.com.

Is the digital edition new? In previous years I've downloaded the PDF, and I was pleasantly surprised that readers can comment on the pages for each team in the digital edition. It's also nice for skipping to a particular team, since the PDF is large enough that it can be cumbersome to load and then navigate (though the bookmarks help!).
What you've got is a terrific "minimum viable product" for the digital edition! I've got a few suggested improvements I hope we can look forward to in future digital editions:
- Links (to player / team pages, relevant stats pages, etc.)
- "Real" / sortable tables (rather than images)
- Pages for sections outside the team essays (e.g. commentary for players at each ball-handling position, the year in quotes, etc.) These certainly have less value than the team essays in a digital edition, since the content outside single-team sections -- or a reasonable substitute for it -- is often available elsewhere on the site. It would be nice to have links for the other sections, though -- if nothing else, consumers of the digital edition may not realize there's content in the PDF that they're not seeing.

In the Intro (in the PDF), there's a bunch of oddly hyphenated words (ex-panded, interfer-ence, finan-cial, etc.).
On Page xvi, Pythagorean Projection, Daryl Morey is no longer general manager of the Houston Rockets.

Not right now, but the last five years of data for each team are published in Football Outsiders Almanac.
You can also use the site search feature and look for "Football Outsiders adjusted games lost 2019" (or whichever year you're looking for) to see the articles we have written in the past.

Once the book is available on Amazon-US (later this week!), it typically takes a few extra days to make it to the international markets.
While we allow for international sales, the availability is really in the hands of Amazon through their operations and logistics side.

Great to have the new version out, but the navigation link to the digital download is not working and trying to access it through My Profile prompts me to subscribe again even though I'm already a + Subscriber. Help?

Hi
I've been purchasing the Almanac since 2008 when it was still the Prospectus, buying the printed and the digital version since 2012.
Do I understand correctly that the digital version is only available for FO+ subscribers ?
That would be very unfortunate, as I do not really need all the extra's that come with FO+.
Thanks for your feedback,
Jurgen

"Both Ramsey and Darnold are under contract through 2024, which means this dynamic duo will form the backbone of the Los Angeles defense for years to come."
This is the kind of typo that gives Rams fans the night terrors

i'm a 15-yr buyer of almanac but first-time buyer of kubiak (thanks to fo+)...silly question: why are there big ranking differences between the two?
i don't want to give away your contents, so will just name two players: chubb & kamara. thanks

It's the same projections so if the scoring system is the same, the rankings should be the same. The difference might be due to your KUBIAK scoring preferences? If the projections are actually listed as different, e-mail us at fo-support@edjsports.com and we'll try to figure out what's going on.
