Injuries: Kupp Day-to-Day, Lewis Done for Season

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp

NFL Week 8 - Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp suffered an ankle injury during Sunday’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers and is considered day-to-day, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Rapoport reported that it was a "regular low ankle sprain" and "dodged a bullet," considered as day-to-day on the injury report. Our current data notes that 75% of wide receivers with low ankle injuries are off the injury report completely after four weeks.

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram II

New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram II is expected to miss three to four weeks with an MCL sprain, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. He is believed to be out for three to four weeks. According to our current data, more than 50% of all running backs with MCL injuries return in three weeks.

Indianapolis Colts DT Tyquan Lewis - Patellar Tendon [Season]

Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Tyquan Lewis was carted off the field during Sunday’s game against the Commanders and diagnosed with a knee injury, according to The Athletic’s James Boyd. A follow-up report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on Monday confirms that Lewis suffered a torn patellar tendon, ending his season.  

Concussions

The following players left their respective games with concussion symptoms and enter the league protocol:

  • New York Giants WR Richie James
  • Detroit Lions TE Brock Wright
  • Houston Texans guard Justin McCray
  • Carolina Panthers S Juston Burris

Based on our current data, more than half of players miss at least one game once diagnosed with a concussion. However, just under 75% of players return from concussion protocol after one week. 

Other Injuries

Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer was ruled out of the rest of Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers with an elbow injury.

Miami Dolphins offensive guard Liam Eichenberg was carted off the field and ruled out with a knee injury during Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions.

New England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker was ruled out with a knee injury after playing a single snap in Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.

Dallas Cowboys safety Donovan Wilson was ruled questionable to return with an undisclosed injury after Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears, according to Dallas Morning News’ Michael Gehlken.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Anthony Barr was ruled out Sunday against the Chicago Bears, according to Dallas Cowboys’ Patrik Walker.

New York Giants defensive end Nick Williams was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks with a bicep injury, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com.

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Josiah Scott is questionable to return to Sunday’s game against the Steelers, per Dave Zangaro  of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards suffered a minor hamstring injury during Thursday’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Baltimore Ravens tight ends Mark Andrews suffered a minor shoulder injury Thursday night, according to The Baltimore Sun’s Jonas Shaffer.

Green Bay Packers linebacker De’Vondre Campbell was ruled out of the rest of Sunday night’s game with a knee injury.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen suffered a bruised knee during Sunday’s win over the Arizona Cardinals. Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell added that Thielen is “OK,” per Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Minnesota Vikings tight end Irv Smith Jr. sustained an ankle injury and will undergo an MRI on Monday, according to Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Minnesota Vikings defensive end Dalvin Tomlinson was ruled out of the rest of Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals, according to ESPN’s Kevin Seifert. Tomlinson will undergo further testing on Monday.

Houston Texans safety Grayland Arnold exited Sunday’s game with a quad injury.

Indianapolis Colts cornerback Tony Brown exited Sunday and did not return after suffering a hamstring injury, according to Andrew Walker of the Colts’ official website.

Tennessee Titans safety Amani Hooker suffered a shoulder injury and was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday’s contest against the Houston Texans, according to ESPN’s Turon Davenport.

Looks like Eagles rookie DT Jordan Davis has a high ankle sprain and may be headed for IR.  MRI pending...
