NFL Week 3 - The NFL announced today that they are replacing the Pro Bowl game itself with "Pro Bowl Games," a week long showcase of top stars with skills competitions and then a flag football game. This seems like a good solution to the problem where the Pro Bowl was becoming a weird pointless exhibition played at half-speed. Peyton Manning's Omaha Productions will apparently be overseeing the whole thing, so it should be fun. Plus, those skills competitions will mean minigames are coming back to Madden next year!

The NFL has finally come to its senses although I would argue it's at least 10 years overdue.

Let's see what the skills are first. I can't really think of anything. You could have QB throw at targets and something with kickers but....I dunno. Not like this works well in any sport.

They should have the worst team play the college champion. :)

Have long snappers see how far they can actually long snap the ball! (So everyone remembers they exist)

I suppose they feel they have to do something but I can't think of anything that would be interesting.

I remember watching the Pro Bowl about 15-20 years ago and they had skills games the week leading up to the actual game. I remember Drew Brees won the passing accuracy game, which really surprised me because (I think) he was only in his first pro bowl (and I was a massive Peyton stan). Can't remember what other skills games they had.

They're going to go with "Brady and Rodgers debate sociopolitical issues"

Honestly, Rodgers might be fun in a debate, just for the crazy aspect. Not sure who you could put on the other side (brady is dull). Maybe Carson Wentz, bc most debates seem to boil down to attacking your opponent.

Frankly, I doubt their socialpolitical leanings are very far apart. Their biggest difference is that Rodgers has never been married.

It's interesting to consider that what might be the worst Pro Bowl injury actually game from a flag football game.

They were playing on a sandy beach.

In retrospect, not a great idea.

A Pro Bowl flag football game might well be more entertaining than the Super Bowl.

It might even highlight some of the poor tackling skills of some defenders. Can't just throw yourself at a ball carrier and hope he goes down.

It's been a de facto flag football game for years.  No tackling allowed.

CeeDee Lamb made me think that a cool catch competition might be neat. (You get Zach Wilson and Daniel Jones drunk and have them throw to guys while blindfolded defenders try to touch them. )

To much injury potential, but could be fun.

Still can't imagine a skills competion that is safe and worth watching.

I want to see offensive lineman sumo wrestling! What other cool ideas for Pro Bowl games?
