49ers Sign Eagles DT Javon Hargrave to 4-Yr, $84M Deal

NFL Offseason - The San Francisco 49ers have signed Eagles defensive tackle Javon Hargrave to a four-year, $84 million deal with $40 million guaranteed, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Hargrave finished fourth among defensive tackles with 11.0 sacks in 2022, a career high. Hargrave was part of the league's best defensive line by adjusted sack rate. Hargrave finished third among defensive tackles in pass rush win rate, behind only Maliek Collins and Chris Jones.
San Francisco now boasts one of the league's best (and most expensive) defensive lines. According to The Athletic's Robert Mays, the 49ers were spending the highest average cap dollars on the defensive line prior to signing Javon Hargrave. Hargrave now joins a defensive line with Nick Bosa, Arik Armstead, and Javon Kinlaw.

This is basically a replacement for DeForest Buckner, who they could have signed for about the same money 3 years ago.
One thing I like about this front office is that they're not afraid to admit their mistakes.
