The Receiving Efficiency tool allows you to run queries that examine receiving effectiveness from the past three seasons from multiple perspectives and with various filters.
You may select any combination of the QB, RB, WR, and TE positions. A green highlight will indicate you have a position selected.
The Totals, Per Game, Per Tgt, and Per Rec perspectives are self-explanatory. Per CTgt stands for Per Catchable Target. The Team Percentages perspective shows players’ percentages of their teams’ statistics only in the games in which they accumulated statistics. That means the statistics of players on teams can add up to more than 100% if some players missed games in the query window.
The Red Zone, Inside 5, and End Zone parameters rely on target locations, not snap locations. For example, a pass thrown with 6 air yards from the 24-yard line will count for Red Zone.
The timeframe options allow you to run a query with any combination of weeks selected within a single season or to run a query between a specified start week and end week, either within one season or bridging multiple seasons. Use the radio buttons to toggle between those timeframe options. For the in-season week selector, a green highlight will indicate you have a week selected.
In the results table, Plus/Minus is estimated completions over those expected by pass depth and location. YAC+ is estimated yards after the catch over those expected by pass depth and location. And Successes are passes that meet Football Outsiders' success rate standards for plays. Those metrics are explained further in the glossary.
This tool relies on Sportradar charting, and its query results may not match those that use other data sources on this or other sites.
