ESPN Upset Watch: Steelers-Ravens

This week's ESPN Upset Watch looks at the close Baltimore-Pittsburgh rivalry, where the road team is 11-8 over the last 19 games. Tight ends could be key for both teams in this matchup, while the running game is likely to be bottled up on both sides. Cover Watch analyzes Green Bay at New England.

I think the comments made by DC Martindale go beyond pre-game bragging. It shows a lack of respect for Bell, and, to the Pittsburg organization. He takes a shot at a player who won't be on the field to answer by his play, allowing himself to make also a fool out of Bell in regard to his contract situation. He then plays the card of 'mister analytics', making statements about the strenght of the team, but motivated by one absent player, who we all know, represents a delicate issue for the Steelers locker room. And then he ends up by throwing names of Steelers HOF out of nowhere. Correct me if I'm wrong, but what a display of cynism an hypocrisy.

He knows Bell is the better back, he's just messing with the Steelers. Are you really so outraged?

Early in the year he said Connor is like a pitcher with a great fastball, while Bell is like a pitcher with 4 good pitches. I thought it was pretty obvious his scouting evaluation favored Bell.
