ESPN: Hidden Rings

I finally wrote a full article on one of my favorite topics, "hidden rings." This is an all-star team of players who you may not know won the Super Bowl because they didn't do it with the team they are historically associated with. I get to discuss many all-time greats including Lomas Brown, Hacksaw Reynolds, Larry Centers, and of course Bernie Kosar. Best of all, unlike most FO content on ESPN, this article is not on Insider. It's free!

Bridgewater Likely to Miss Entire 2017 Season

Well, that sucks. It's been rumored, as Bridgewater's injury apparently has an 18-month average recovery timeframe. The guy is going to be a free agent in 2018 having not played for two years. Ugh. By the way, this is a video rather than article, so just be aware when clicking. You can discuss below without watching video.

NFC Championship Preview 2017

"Last team with the ball wins" is a cliche, but sometimes cliches are the best way to get across the central narrative of an important game. If you like great quarterback play, you have to watch the NFC Championship Game.

Ravens LB Zach Orr to Retire

Surprising news out of Baltimore, where linebacker Zach Orr is retiring from the NFL after three seasons. He led the Ravens in tackles this year but an injury near the end of the year led to finding a congenital neck/spine condition that would endanger Orr if he played further. I'm sure there will be discussion about how this is yet another young player retiring from the NFL, but it's not solely due to injuries from the game itself. That's not what the word "congenital" means.

Raiders File Las Vegas Paperwork

I never know when to post this stuff in Extra Points. Do we wait until they actually move? Until the owners approve? Is just filing paperwork enough? Anyway, the Raiders are moving to Las Vegas assuming they can get approval from 23 out of 31 other owners. (They will.) Apparently, they will stay in Oakland for the next two seasons, because their lease says they can and the Vegas stadium isn't built yet. So, that should be interesting. It's not like there's a history of fans turning on teams after they announce they're moving out of town, or anything.
