Freeney Placed on IR

This is colossal news, reported by both the Indianapolis Star and John Clayton over at ESPN.com. The Colts have dodged injury for so many years -- except for Bob Sanders -- but this was bound to happen eventually. No Harrison, no Clark, no Ugoh, random dudes picked out of the stands playing linebacker... We're about to see what it would be like if Peyton Manning played quarterback for the 2006 Washington Redskins. As a Pats fan, I feel the rivalry is less fun when major players get injured like this. From the Indianapolis chapter of PFP:

Fun with "Divisional Opponent" Trends

Having seen this post on Matt Mosley's blog, I had to check. The quote from famous gambler Brandon Lang, talking about the Cowboys: "They're also playing a divisional opponent for the second straight week on the road. You know as well as anyone, Matt, that's a lethal trifecta in this league." Since 2000, the winning percentage for all teams playing a divisional opponent on the road for the second straight game: .427. Since 2000, the winning percentage for all teams on the road, period: .426. So, um, yeah. Don't feel bad if you take the 'Boys.
