Who Said It: Bennett or Sheen?

Kudos to NFL.com's Adam Rank for coming up with this idea. He has 12 quotes; six each from recently off-the-deep-end actor Charlie Sheen, and six from quote-worthy Dallas Cowboys tight end Martellus Bennett. Bennett's quotes don't even include his recent assertion that the Cowboys should have an open quarterback competition between Jon Kitna and Tony Romo, but he's got a few doozies in there.

Spoiler, I guess.

I would like to see the context in which Bennett got talking about dinosaurs...

In an environment as open as the internet Adam Rank would be well advised to credit the original authors of his ideas. Especially when they are major international newspapers...

The "Is it A or B?" game is very old and very common. There are probably more than just these 2 examples of it based on Charlie Sheen.

Collge Humor had a version that came out the same day as the one mentioned above, this time using Ron Burgundy. Citing the Guardian for this is kind of silly.

ESPN.com had one with Sheen and Mike Tyson a few weeks ago.

I don't know about quotes, but I gota think that Charlie bites better body parts than Tyson does.

I don't understand people's love of Martellus Bennett's quotes.

You have to pick the most outrageous Bennett quotes and the most innocuous Charlie Sheen quotes to even make this a contest.

Is all that really needed? I can just briefly glance at this list and start laughing. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/qb

Came up with the idea? It's shtick from the Scott Van Pelt show on ESPN radio.

I've seen this format on ESPN's Page 2 about Sheen-Tyson.

Sheen probably has mental health problems and is definitely a serial domestic abuser (in my view, by far his biggest flaw). That said, some of the stuff he says is clever. The bit about early success is one example.

Yeah, that's a very acute observation (I mean the quote). Junkies' mental processes can be rather erratic, but they do have good insights sometimes.

You honestly believe his shtick? Personally, as soon as I found out the tickets for his comedy tour start at $60 for nosebleed and go up to $600 I realized his act for what it truly is: A VERY well thought out "advertising" plan, performed by an excellent actor. If there's an award for method acting, Sheen should get it, hands down.

Except for the part where he loses his television show and the multi-million dollar paycheck that comes with it.

and his kids.

by Bobman :: Thu, 04/14/2011 - 5:19pm

It was something like $2.0-$2.5M per show. How many shows a season? 13-26 usually. He's hurtin' now....

by masoch (not verified) :: Fri, 04/15/2011 - 8:39am

tmz.com estimates he stands to make at least 7 million for the tour. 1 million from twitter per the Hollywood Reporter. That's 8 million for roughly one month's work. Without counting T-shirt sales, website revenue, etc. Yeah, he'll probably
"only" make half his previous salary, but he'll have a LOT more time for his kids and hoes. And drugs.

The success/failure one IS excellent. I've heard it before, but it just may have been some of Sheen's ramblings.
