Billick Wants Lewis Practicing With Ravens
Apparently Brian Billick thinks that as part of his NFL-mandated suspension, Jamal Lewis should still be allowed to go to work every day. I found this quote particularly entertaining: "We can talk to him, but he's not allowed to be in the building, which I really think has to be revisited during the offseason...When you have an athlete in this position...He needs to be around the counseling and the mentoring we have here. To totally isolate a guy from the team, I don't think is in the best interest of the team, it's not in the best interest of the athlete, it's not in the best interest of the league."
Hmmm. I would love to sit in on one of the Ravens' "counseling and the mentoring" sessions. I can only imagine it's part Dr. Phil, part Scared Straight. Maybe we can just give Lewis a slap on the wrist and forget the whole thing ever happened.
