Beisel Rants to Less-Than-Rave Reviews

This is nowhere near Code Red: Ryan Leaf Meltdown Status, but it does give you some indication of how playing in a big media market is a little different than say, Kansas City. You'd think Beisel would've covered that (expletive) in his (expletive) mass communications classes at (expletive) Kansas State.

Living in SD the last decade, I fondly remember the Leaf meltdown, but this is great!

You’re not supposed to make me look bad.

Uh, sorry Monty, but your play made you look bad. Remember the SD game when you couldn't bring down LT and he dragged you the last five yards into the endzone?

I guess not everything Belichick touches turns to gold.

Re #1: No, that's Mike Shanahan.

A veteran who takes up less than a million in cap space just ain't all that important, in the long term scheme of things. If there were strong expectations of good performance, the Patriots wouldn't have gotten him at that price. They took a low priced flyer on the guy, and it hasn't worked out. He would be better served, however, by taking his lumps in the media without public complaint.

Yeah, I think the expectations were maybe a little high for Beisel. Expecting him to replace Ted Johnson was clearly setting the bar too high. OTOH, Beisel really hasn't done himself any favors, either, either with his play, which has varied from acceptable to bad, or his comments in the media. And pissing off Tom Curran really isn't going to help your public image any, considering he's pretty well respected and writes a LOT about the Patriots.

Its one thing when Ty Law goes off, its quite another when this guy does it. The only question is this: will they even let him into the Foxy Lady one last time before he gets cut?
