Chiefs' Larry Johnson Arrested

I was just telling someone that I think Larry Johnson is a better player than Priest Holmes right now. How disappointing to see that he was arrested Monday night after an altercation with his girlfriend early Saturday morning at a Kansas City bar, the latest in a series of troubles with the law for Kansas City Chiefs players. When will Chiefs players learn to stay out of the bar scene? Already this preseason we saw Todd Collins, Lawrence Tynes, Junior Siavii, and Greg Wesley get into trouble.

Yes, because it's the KC bars that are causing them to go crazy.

It's true, you should keep your altercations with your girlfriend at home.

The mature thing would be to poop in her shoes.

Honestly, we need a list of "bad running back behavior." The fact somebody referenced the Green Bay #2 RB in post #3 demands such a list.

Well, pro football players who want to date more than one woman at a time should only date women who don't get jealous. And if they can find any of those, it's probably because they are rich and athletic. This one had nothing to do with bars and alcohol, except that it was easy to get caught there. Well, and the alcohol could have contributed to over-reactions.

Looks like the diapers are off.

The diapers could still be on, if he likes stuff like that.

I believe this is what is known in the newspaper biz as a "standing head." It refers back to a time when newspaper type was made from lead slugs, and the editors would save headlines they knew they'd be using again and again to save time and money.

Get out the last one, use it again, and save it for the next time too.

The KC Star is not reporting that he was arrested (on web site today, see link below):

Kansas City police issued Johnson a municipal ticket for assault today. Johnson refused to sign the ticket. He was given a Sept. 20 court date in Municipal Court.

Although I don't know what the technical difference between a "munincipal ticket" (Star) and "being arrested" (Fox Sports headline) and "turned himself in" (text of Fox article), the KC article has a different slant than Fox's.

I must say as a Chiefs fan, Holmes is easier to root for than some of their other players

The diapers are on. That why he didn't pull a Davenport.

I've heard some things about this from people in KC on another board I frequent. They said that the girl has since retracted several of the charges, and that she had to be pressed into filing in the first place. It looks like she might go McMichaels on us after all.

Sorry, but someone had to start referencing bad behavior by non-RBs.

I must say as a fantasy owner with both johnson and holmes on my roster I hope johnson gets enough jail time to miss a couple games and make my decision easier. Seriously, what do you do when the premier RB puts up solid numbers but the backup puts up 110 with 2 tds on 9 friggin' carries? Seriously, I picked up johnson as insurance but now I'm having problems figuring out who to start.

I'd say stick with Holmes till he gets injured. It looks like Homles will be getting 2/3rds of the carries for the Cheifs, with most of them coming later in the game, which should translate to more fantasy points for him. Also Vermeil loves handing the ball to Homles in goal-line situations, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I always knew Johnson wouldn't work out. Big 10 and all.

I'll do that B, thanks.

The thing that I think is amazing is he is out at the bars late on the night before a game...the first game of the season no less...and still puts up 110 and 2 TDs...on 9 carries!!! I shudder to think what his performance will be like after a 4 day meth bender, or two weeks of doing ride alongs with the Hell's Angels.
