Kings Invite T.O. to Summer League

Len Pasquarelli reports: "In the latest twist to Owens' offseason saga, the Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver has been invited to play for the Sacramento Kings' summer league team. The invitation to join Sacramento draft choices, free agents, younger veterans and music mogul Master P on the roster was confirmed Friday by agent Drew Rosenhaus and a Kings spokesman."

But it will only happen if the Eagles give permission, which makes it, says Len, "a longer shot than a 3-point buzzer-beater from half court."

It so happens that I know a little something about T.O., music moguls, and summer league games. A couple of years ago I sat courtside during a summer league game that included T.O., Tony Gonzalez, Magic Johnson, and Snoop Dogg. My impressions:

T.O. puts the guys on the cover of Men's Health to shame. I've never set eyes on a more perfect male physique.

Gonzalez is really, really good at basketball. He obviously made the right choice by going to football, but he can play.

Magic is huge. It's amazing how big, strong, and healthy an HIV-positive person can be if he has access to the best medicine money can buy. He could grab eight rebounds a game in the NBA today.

Snoop is so skinny it's ridiculous. I think my 5-year-old nephew has bigger arms than Snoop does.

Wow. That's the most man-love I've ever seen in a FO write-up. Please cease at once.

I for one think the man-love is hilarious. Even better if it's unintentional.

First King and Brady, now MDS and TO.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

If it looks like a rat and smells like a rat.......

The only thing better than TO teaming up with Randy Moss and Warren Sapp on the same team would be TO, Master P and Zeljko Rebraca.

I absolutely insist that they share hotel rooms on travel days.

I'm trying to imagine any conversation between Rebraca and TO. Please put this on television!

TO looks like me.

But the real question is, can Snoop ball? I remember reading about him lighting it up at a Deion Sanders charity hoops game years back.

(I just reread this. When I wrote "lighting it up," I meant that he was playing basketball very well. Honest.)

Snoop seemed to have good instincts as a player. He knew where to go on the floor, how to move without the ball, etc. He also had a pretty nice shot, although it was clear that he was going to have all day to shoot because no one was really pressing him on D.
