Southeast Jerome in Heaven with Friends

Clinton Portis brought along some pals for his press conference yesterday. My personal favorite is Chris Cooley as "Johnny White Guy" although I like the way Ryan Clark says "Pied Piper Piccalo." You must watch this video. I mean no disrespect for fans of Seattle and other NFC playoff contenders, but if you are a fan of an AFC team, how can you not be rooting for the Redskins to make the Super Bowl? Don't you want to see Clinton Portis on Media Day? The Portis Dance is your chance to do the Portis.

I am amazed. I don't think this is nearly a big enough media story. ESPN should break into live coverage for every press conference. I am in awe of Clinton Portis. What a great man.

Clinton Portis is the hotness. I am in awe.

The best part is the inocuous "RB Clinton Portis addressed the Media on Thursday" clip that shows him in uniform. If you didn't know better, it looks like just another player interview, and instead, you get whatever that is. Kudos to the Redskins site for having all the interviews up so you can see the initial pronouncement from Dr. Donknow, then the ongoing investigation by Sherrif Gonnagetcha. Fantastic.

wow. the touch of man love when they talk serious about the Redskins rushing record seemed a little awkward in comparison to everything else. but yeah, portis is awesome.

Holy crap, that was funny.

I always like Portis. He ran like Davis, and talked like Sharpe. Pretty tough combination to top.

I have to say, though... Chris Cooley giving Portis a shoulder rub weirded me out a little bit.

Does anyone else think the Clinton Portis disguise thing is just really stupid?

Oh, I'm sorry. We're being subtle, aren't we?

Its brilliant. Drawing attention away from the Arrington thing. Plus it looks like they were having fun, and so were the reporters.

The disguise thing is stupid, you say? And yet you're named after the Stampede?

Pot, meet Kettle.

I suppose it's nice that he's doing something with some variety, but i just can't watch those. they remind me all too clearly why I haven't seen an episode of SNL in my adult life.

I also think they're similar to horrible SNL skits, but then I remember that it's a legitimate NFL player and real beat writers at a real press conference. Then, it magically becomes hilarious...

I like the SNL analogy. They usually wind up the same way - I see the intro, chuckle somewhat at the concept, and wind up shutting it off after about 30 seconds when it gets old. Both of them routinely take an idea that's funny for maybe a minute and try to get 6 minutes of laughter from it.

I think its great, I played football and think people are too serious.
