Cowboys guard Kyle Kosier is out 4-6 weeks with a sprained MCL.

The question is not whether Saquon Barkley is the best running back in this draft class. The question is whether any running back, even one as good as Barkley, warrants a top-five draft selection in the NFL in 2018.

Re: Kyle Kosier Sprains MCL
It begins... So, who is the Boys' back-up here? And how long is Colombo supposed to be out? Their o-line already looked shaky in the first two preseason games...
Re: Kyle Kosier Sprains MCL
While there is a significant possibility that the Cowboys O-line will suffer a rash of injuries and miss significant regular season time, there was similar talk about the inevitability of injuries for the Jets' and Giants' lines last season, and neither was disproportionally injured
Re: Kyle Kosier Sprains MCL
I thought they had some sort of magic trainer that allowed their team to break the trend and have disproportionately few injuries year after year without ever regressing to the mean?
Re: Kyle Kosier Sprains MCL
I didn't know they figure out how to predict which teams will be snakebitten by injuries. If they can offer a money-back guarantee if they're wrong, I bet they could make a lot of money with that information. Otherwise, one would think they have a bad feel for the Cowboys as they've undershot the win prediction for the team five straight years, often drastically
Re: Kyle Kosier Sprains MCL
So Koiser misses two games that matter at most and Colombo probably makes it back for the opener. I'll take those results and you guys can keep holding up your "the end is near" signs. If we can't handle our LG missing two games, we probably weren't going to do much this season anyways.
I'm really excited to see Montrae Holland against the Chargers. I think he can be a solid backup G. Robert Brewster meanwhile will probably get demolished at RT, but hey, he's a 3rd-string RT. What can you really expect? I'll take Alex Barron at RT for a few games. We've survived Flozell 1.0 at LT the last few years, so I don't know why we can't survive Flozell 2.0 at RT for a few games.
I'm a little discouraged that Koiser, Colombo, and Barron are all out at the same time, but hey, it's still preseason. Talk to me about our injuries when the games matter (and currently, we only have one important starter scheduled to miss a regular season game).
Re: Kyle Kosier Sprains MCL
Amen.
Re: Kyle Kosier Sprains MCL
Wait, in what possible universe is Alex Barron Flozell Adams 2.0? Flozell Adams is a five time pro bowler. Ok, so that may slightly overstate how good he was, and he is clearly no longer the player he was, but Alex Barron is Alex freakin' Barron. He is not nor was he ever nor will he ever be a viable starter, never mind an arguably slightly undeserving pro bowler. One of the few consolations for drafting Travis Johnson is that the player everbody thought we should have taken instead may be even worse.

I'm just happy, as an Eagles fan, that we've reached a point where Cowboys fan will get defensive with the slightest needling and constantly complain about a lack of respect. It warms my heart.
And, yes, I remember the last two games of the Eagles season last year, no need for angry, defensive reminders... although, they would warm my heart as well...
