Lions Acquire Rob Sims

Detroit has acquired Rob Sims from the Seahawks, according to the Detroit News. No word yet on terms.

UPDATE: The Seahawks get a fifth-round pick in the deal. That would be pick 133.

NEW UPDATE: It's actually Sims and a seventh-round pick for Robert Henderson and a fifth-round pick. Henderson's never played an NFL down.

Guess Russell Pkung is off the board for them. Suh or McCoy. I think they should still take Okung @ LT to protect Stafford and The Megatron and slide Baccus to LG or at worst RT even with Sims on the roster

They pick second.
With the Rams taking Bradford, the 2 DTs and Okung are still available.
That defense was baaaaaad, I'd take one of the 2 DTs and take an offensive lineman later.

I know he's been highly disappointing for most of his career to date, but if you watched Backus last year, he actually played like an above average NFL LT for the first time. It's pretty strange for a guy to suddenly turn the corner at 32, so he'll maybe rebound into mediocrity this year, but if I was the Lions, with their many, many needs, I would certainly go for DT and hope that Backus can hold his form.

As for Sims, he hasn't looked like anything to write home about as a starting guard, but he should be a clear upgrade over Ramirez, who is just godawful.
