Maurkice Pouncey did not practice today. Mike Tomlin has, according to Adam Schefter, ruled his starting center out for Super Bowl XLV.

Try not to give too much credit. This may be "official" confirmation, but this story has been out there for about a week and a half.

I've only been browsing through my RSS feeds the last 2 weeks, and this Pouncey storyline, with 20 updates "Will play"/"Won't" per day was one of the most uninteresting and annoying I've ever seen. Glad it's over

Did anyone other than Pouncey actually think he was going to play?

by Theo :: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 9:57pm

What would Pouncey's other option be?

So, um, is everyone going to rip him for being a giant pussy? Surely he can man up and play injured in the Super Bowl can't he?

A professional should be able to play center with a broken foot. I once saw Jim Abbott pitch a baseball game without a right hand!

He will play like you would have and probably would be screaming like you would even though you started the game healthy.
Sorry... sarcasm meter was off again.
No if he can't play he can't play.
And I trust Legursky. He's not THAT good, but he's not bad at all.

Remarkable how much attention has been paid to a rookie center.

Is it? How many other players who started the conference championship games are going to miss the Superbowl?

It's an indication of how little else there is to talk about.

Remarkable how much attention has been paid to a rookie center.

You could easily reword this to say, "Remarkable how much attention has been paid to the best offensive lineman on the Steelers."
