Bly Traded To Broncos for Bell, Foster

Michael Smith is reporting that the Lions have traded Dre' Bly to the Broncos in exchange for Tatum Bell and George Foster. This would seemingly indicate that the Lions are really concerned about Kevin Jones' injury. If Foster and Jeff Backus are the tackles, does that also mean they won't be drafting Joe Thomas?

Bears Lock In Lovie With New Deal

FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer broke the news that the NFC Champion Chicago Bears have ended months of speculation by re-upping head coach Lovie Smith. The Bears will announce the deal and have a press conference on Thursday. Although numbers haven't been released, the contract will take Smith out of the realm of the greviously underpaid (he made $1.4 million in 2006), and into the elite level of Jeff Fisher, John Fox and others in that top-end tax bracket.

Trip to Inner Sanctum an Enlightening Experience

If you were ever wondering what goes on in the 15-minute interviews at the NFL Combine, ChicagoBears.com's Larry Mayer gives you a glimpse. Chiefs Agree to Deal with Huard

Let the quarterback controversy begin. Jay Glazer says it is a three-year, $7.5-million contract. The idea that Damon Huard is the "heir apparent" to Trent Green is a little ridiculous -- the guy is going to be 34 years old next season. Green will be 37. You have to figure this is just an open competition heading into camp. Meanwhile, this contract takes a very good option off the market for teams like Cleveland that have a need for a veteran quarterback, and Brodie Croyle would like to know when a combination surfboard-clipboard will be available for purchase.
