Is it just me or do most of the pictures look like they've undergone some sort of Silly Putty stretch?

Yeah, that happened to me to. I figured it was due to me being forced to use Internet Explorer 8 at work.

I have the same issue at work. I will check again on Chrome when I get home tonight.

Yup, it's an IE8 problem. The page looks fine in Chrome. I'm fine with that as IE8 doesn't work like other browsers anyway and I hate that programmers have to add more code to get pages to look right in IE that look just fine in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.

Why wouldn't we conflate the "Te" boys?
Both of them are primarily famous for their intense relationships with imaginary friends and both of them look and throw like linebackers.

"A few may even get mixed up and make Tebow jokes."

In fairness,a lot of Tebow's passes look like they're intended for an invisible reciever.

Heh. That movie that gave Chance Warmack his name that he doesn't know? Forty bucks and a box of doughnuts says it's "Hard Target," the 1993 Jean-Claude Van Damme epic of head-kicking and Wilford Brimley-ing. The age is about right, and JCVD's hero, Chance Boudreaux, is asked by the love interest how he got his name. Quoth he: "My mama took one."

God, I love that stupid-ass movie.

Chance Warmack was born on September 14, 1991.
Hard Target's (Jon Woo, USA 1993) earliest release was on August 20, 1993.

That makes it rather unlikely. (Plus, it would mean that his, "I don't know. I wasn't born yet" line is actually wrong.)

Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man (Simon Wincer, USA 1991), however, was released August 23, 1991 (just a few weeks before Warmack was born). Tom Sizemore played a character named Chance Wilder. That sounds far more likely to me.

Being There, with Peter Sellers.

There are many, many movies with the name "Chance" in them. Hellfighters (Andrew V. McLaglen, USA 1968) had a main character named Chance Buckman, Sweet Bird of Youth (Richard Brooks, USA 1962) had a main character named Chance Wayne, L.A. Heat (Joseph Merhi, USA 1989) had a main character named Jon Chance, etc.

I picked the one that came out just before he was born as more likely than any of them after he was born or that came out a dozen years earlier. I did not mean either my earlier post or this one to be an exhaustive list of every film with the name Chance in it. If you want to look for that, here's the easiest place to start: http://www.imdb.com/find?q=Chance&s=ch

And I didn't mean to imply that you were trying to. :)

That's just the movie that came to my mind.

Manti Te'o ran a 4.82.

by Dean :: Fri, 03/01/2013 - 5:46pm

No. He ran something significantly slower than 4.82 that is being called a 4.82. Every single one of these 40 yard dash times is completely bogus. They're useful in relation to each other, but not in any realistic measure of actual speed.
