Revis vs. Megatron

I can't wait for the day that Darrelle Revis' knee is at full strength so he can reprise Revis Island against any receiver. His assignment on Calvin Johnson reveals that he's not there yet. However, his performance on Sunday is a story of a great football player with new physical limitations and his coaching staff making adjustments to win the war against one of these most dangerous pitch-and-catch combos in the NFL. Read the analysis at the Rookie Scouting Portfolio blog.

Ugh, the last part was depressing to read. The Lions could be so good if they had a lot more discipline and just a little more luck.

Regarding your last sentence, how the heck do you think Bucs fans feel? Tampa had the Jets, Saints, and Seahawks beaten, and let the games get away. Flip those three almost-sure wins, and we're 6-5 and in the playoff hunt. The Arizona, Philly, and first Falcons games were all easily winnable, but dumb mistakes pissed them away.

I don't know if they'd even need much luck. I've thought the Lions have been the most talented team in the NFC for the last two years with a meathead for a coach. If he and the team could play more disciplined, they're an easy 10-6 team.

Revis is PFF's #1 CB in coverage, so he can't be doing too bad. (Add in that even the best CB isn't some video-game player, they get beat (and against the best WR in the league that isn't a shame)).

Revis and Rex was a match made in heaven. Shame that Revis just wants money more than anything. Don't blame him either. I would take $16 million a year over 12

It's not as if the Jets provided a better chance at a championship given their ridiculous QB drama. If you recognize you're not getting to the Super Bowl anyway, might as well take the money.
